Start & Stay Strong - Priorities

Listen to the Episodes of Life podcast.

"When you are on your death bed, you will not wish to spend more time at work but with your family."

I am continuing my five-part series on Starting & Staying Strong on the journey of life. Our subtopic for today is PRIORITIES.

What is important to you in your life? Is it God, work, family, socialization, or what? It is important that we set our priorities right in order to start any journey of life. Truth be told, I was not a priority practitioner. I have always set my priorities based on how much time I spend with something. For instance, I didn’t particularly think family should come before my career. But what shifted my paradigm was when I once visited my family during Christmas. It was such a delight.

For now, God comes first, followed by my personal life and then family and friends, career, socialization, and others. I learnt this from people who have lived by this list of order and made huge impacts in their generation. They simply live by the philosophy that when you are on your death bed, you will not wish to have spent more time at work but with your family. This excites me because once I have this order right, I can live a fruitful life going forward. That is a life that focuses on people who matter and are instrumental to accomplishing my assignment.

I urge you to sit down and order your life according to things that matter most. What are the important things and less important things in your life? Determine them and list them in order of priority. It is only then that you can start your journey.

Have you set a priority for your life that you follow? Share your thoughts below.
