RAVI, WE WILL REMEMBER YOU

“What I believe in my heart must make sense in my mind,” ― Ravi Zacharias

Dear Ravi,

Only this afternoon, I heard the unfortunate news of your death. I wasn't happy you are leaving us physically but I am happy you are joining the host of saints to cheer us on. We have no doubt you have contributed your quota to defend the faith you professed.

Here are few things we will remember you for:

1. We will remember you for defending the Christian faith. Jude said we should contend for the faith (Jude 1:3).

2. We will remember you for helping Christians to think. Some skeptics think we Christians don't think but RZIM's slogan of helping the believer think is apt. Many people say you helped them to be grounded and think rationally about the faith they believe.

3. We will remember you for the jokes before the talks. You will almost always begin a heavy presentation by sharing a lighter story that will bring amusement before you offload the weightier matters.

4. We will remember you for your wonderful quotes from memory. I sometimes wonder how you did that but I always console myself and praise the Lord for the gift of keeping all those quotes in your head.

5. We will remember you for the legacy you built, partners you created and young people you raised to become defenders of the faith.

To these five things, we will definitely remember you. Your memories are itched deep in our hearts.

We truly love and appreciate you for your work of travelling around the world to share the faith and help thinkers to believe.

God bless you.

Yours truly,

Eric Otchere
