Everyday Lessons #3
Popular decisions are easy to make. Unpopular decisions are tough to make. It’s easy to live a carefree life but difficult to live a more controlled and principled-centered life that culminates into all rounded success.
Yesterday, the President of Ghana did a media interaction at the Flagstaff House. “It’s not every decision that will be popular but what was I elected for as president, to take popular decisions? If I took popular decisions for you to be happy with me, this country will be in the ground by now,” he said.
This is true not only for the President of Ghana but for all of us. We are not on earth at this present time to make popular decisions. There are many of us who are under the whims and caprices of what others say. I call it Other People’s Opinion (OPO). Poet Robert Frost wrote, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” What decisions are you making with your dreams and goals? Make unpopular decisions.
Live active!
