Predictions + Patterns = Success
As I boarded a commercial vehicle to work, as usual, I had buried my head in a book reading. Along the line my thought went on the subject of daily success. I thought about how daily people go to work and strive to achieve their set goals. The thought that a day is very important to securing your bright future came forcefully at me. Not many of us are really productive about our daily agenda. Some of us run our day carelessly. People who make the best of the day have two secrets namely predictionand pattern which I want to share with you this week.
PREDICTION: It is common place for students preparing for examination to hazard prediction as to what they will get. Such predictions may be positive or negative based on their level of preparation. Top performers in any field of work make predictions too. Before they begin each day, they hopefully predict a good outcome of the day’s work. It is natural to humans to see something good about what we throw our efforts into. Imagine the best you want to have. Serial author Dr. Mike Murdock says that you must get a dominant goal you want to achieve for the day and go at it.
PATTERN: In my country Ghana, there are good laws sitting on our shelves without practical patterns to make them good. By pattern, I mean traceable habitual behavior which can be repeated to achieve daily success. Former tennis champ Andre Agassi brought this principle home when I watched a documentary of his stint with the game he loves so much. I heard that a bit of touch of any of his things may result in a big disruption in his entire game for any day. Andre had a pattern he set for himself to make things work for him. No wonder he was a top rated player of the game. Evaluate your patterns which you habitually do.
If there was anyone who got so much done in His daily works, it was Jesus Christ. In three and a half years, He achieved more than many people used their lifetime to work at fulfilling. Why? It’s simple: He predicted His day and patterned His activities. I love to repeat this line that when you do what successful people do, you will get the same results they get. May you be changed! © July 2013 Eric Otchere
