Life lessons are supposed to help us make generous future decisions.
Life is full of lessons. Your perspective attracts your lessons. A student of life always looks out for what experiences will teach him or her. What lessons did you learn in the month of January 2013? I want to share 3 things I learnt that is changing the way I do things.
WORK THROUGH OTHER PEOPLE: You cannot do everything on your own. You need help. You need to delegate. Leadership experts advise that we get others to do what we cannot do well. Furthermore, leaders should only focus on what only they can do. Budding entrepreneurs have the tendency to think that because there is more to do, they must shoulder every responsibility. Get more work done by delegating to capable hands.
DO ONE THING AT A TIME: Can you listen to a phone call and listen to important instructions at the same time? I did that. I realised that I had passively gotten both things done through lack of focus. It is always good to do one thing at a time. The quality of your work done will depend on the intense focus you apply. Focusing on more than one thing breaks your focus. Put your hands on one thing before you move to the next.
PLANS DON’T ALWAYS GO AS PLANNED: Not everything works as planned. Some things might go off beat. You might lose some loyal customers. You might be still sticking to the old friends who move you off course. There are a couple of things you can choose to do when plans don’t work as scheduled: One, you can get disappointed and give up. Two, you can usher in a Plan B and press on. The fact that plans go astray doesn’t mean you cannot achieve your goals. Fix your gaze on the big picture you have in mind.
Take time to write down your own life lessons along the way. It disciplines you to learn the good lessons for greater heights. Start this exercise now! God loves you!
