IMAGINE BIG

Thank God we are alive in 2013. There is nothing more hopeful than being alive at the dawn of a new year. 2012 is now past and gone, settle that.  

What can you see at the end of 2013 from now? What can you see beyond the days, weeks and months? In my Psychology class in the university, we were taught memoryas a full course. Memory is that part of our mind that stores all the past issues of life. It has your failures, successes, disappointments, heartbreaks, rejections, intimidations, fears, and many more. We love the good side of our memory but dread the bad side. Read this carefully: You can never change your past experiences.

There is another part of the mind that holds great deal for the future. It is the part called imagination. I call it I-MARGIN-NATION. Margin is the size of something. And so, what you see stretches your nation or your territory in life. The good thing about imagination is that there is no limit to it. The bad thing is that few utilise it.

Will you focus on memory or on imagination? Remember, you can’t serve two masters. I urge you to deploy imagination and employ memory as a guiding post. When God met Abraham, he challenged him to use his imagination. Abraham’s past was as big as his nuclear family and still living with his parents at age 75 years. In Genesis 13:14-15 (NKJV), God challenged him: “And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.” Wow! Never forget these two points: one, God will never imagine for you. He wants you to LIFT YOUR EYES AND LOOK. And second, what you see is what GOD WILL GIVE TO YOU.
