There is nothing as powerful as your personal decision to succeed
in spite of who won or which political party is in power.
Everything that has a beginning has an end. The 2012 election is over. The results have been declared. However you look at it, the outcome is an end or a means to an end. Whether your candidate won or not, there are some personal changes to be made in order to win in your dream life. The people who will succeed are those who position themselves strategically to take advantage of opportunities. Here are three key changes captured in words.
ATTITUDE: What’s your attitude after the election? Is it positive or negative? The person with positive attitude that no matter who becomes president, he/she can make it in Ghana is the one who will succeed. Attitude is a choice wrapped in consequences. Some people choose to believe that without a particular candidate becoming president, they cannot succeed. Choose the positive attitude that says that if it must be, it is up to me.
PHILOSOPHY: Secondly, ask yourself: what’s my personal philosophy after the election? Is it that election is bigger than my life or life is bigger than election? If the majority voted for the candidate who won, it doesn't mean you are a minority. Business philosopher Jim Rohn said that your income is directly related to your philosophy not the economy. Your personal value is incomparable to a four-year mandate of a president. Elections and presidents come and go, but people and their dreams remain? Go and make your dreams come true by declaring, “My life is bigger than any election”.
DECISION: What’s your personal decision after the election? Is it to quit or to persist? Decide to persist until you win too. There is nothing as powerful as your personal decision to succeed in spite of who won or which political party is in power. If you tie that decision to the apron strings of a party, you will go down when they go down and you will go up when they go up. Success after election depends on your personal decision to make your life count.
Unless you change, you will not see any improvement in your life after such a defining election. Do some adjustments in your attitude, philosophy and decision and your path will turn in the right direction after the election whether your candidate won or not.
