After reading two books on leadership by Dr. Myles Munroe, I am convicted than ever before that EVERYONE IS BORN TO LEAD. His Spirit Of Leadership and In Charge books are two critical works to restore the authentic model of leadership paradigm in our generation.
For a long time, many have been taught to follow whilst few lead. We are taught that the only type of leadership to cause massive change is political leadership. We have been taught that men are leaders whilst women are followers. We have been taught that old age is synonymous with leadership. We have been taught that the boss is the leader whilst all others are followers. But all these age-old mentalities left on our minds have been proven wrong on the backside of what the world is experiencing in the boardrooms, churches, homes, and so on.
Today, the dynamics have totally changed. Just like how in the days when the monarchical system was toppled, the leadership myths have come trembling down.
My point is: stop following others, start leading yourself. You are not comfortable with this assertion? Let me clarify. According to Dr. Myles Munroe, you are a leader in your gifting (talent, ability, skill). Osh! Did you get that? I am a writer; I am a leader in my field. No wonder J. K. Rowling, author of the Harry Porter series is a billionaire just by writing books. To be a leader, you have to lead in your own setting. Question: What’s your gift(s)? Ok, you know it. Polish it, and serve it to the world. That’s all it takes to lead and not follow.
